Hello! Your project has caught our attention, and we would love to learn more about it. Please reach out to us via email at wtcdpublisher@gmail.com. We’d be happy to discuss a potential partnership!

Best regards, Volodymyr, WTCD Publisher.

This game is a banger, 5/5

The atmosphere, the location, the story and world building are all soo damn good

Good job BananaJeff

I love it! I got 2 ending and I wonder if there are more? I love the atmosphere. I want to know more about the game's world

Thanks! Yes, this game only has 2 endings.  But there will be more games from this series for sure, so stay tuned!

I loooved the booklet! I'm entranced by the characters, the setting, the overall feeling; visually the building and our apartment is fantastic, I love how warm and messy it feels. The story/setting are GREAT. I can tell there is a lot of love here!!

I would love to see more games in a similar setting or world, I am so intrigued by the Church and what they are up to - as well as the mines. Maybe something of similar length, as a sort of prequel to the substance in the mines? I would love to see the perspective of a member of the church or a factory worker, maybe a resident of the building who didn't return.

Do you post any of your world building anywhere? Or is it just the game and booklet for now? I'd even love short stories in the setting, game or no. :)

Well done, I enjoyed it very much.

Nice the game is absolutely great game I like it very much and its really well made well done keep it up!

Yooo, in that dream (day 3 to 4) sequence I almost missed the NIGHT NOTEBOOK on a table there WHICH WOULD BE A SHAME, 'cause stuff in there... actually gave me the chills.

Overall, the attention to details is insane. You can even make coffe in the morning! I loved everything about this project and I need more...

Oh yeah, I'll make it more clear with the next patch hopefully...

The game is really interesting. It has an interesting plot, incredible atmosphere and a pace that, despite being slow, helps to create the whole atmosphere of apocalyptic horror that the game requires. ALL ENDINGS HERE:

i just have one question

.....oh.. took me an embarrassingly long time to get what's wrong with this sentence lmao

(1 edit) (+1)

i really liked seeing it, it made my day and felt like a piece of the narrative

game was 10/10, would love to see more like this in the future

I agree - it feels like when you know what you want to say but fail to do so.

Very nice. I went in blind and didn't know what to expect. Lurking around the flat at night, frantically reaching for the light switch gave me the chills. I have experienced two endings, but i'm still not sure either one of those were "good" endings as the game told me to review my choices or something like that after i was done. Dunno if i want to explore it more or leave it be. I'm kind of enjoying this suspenseful bittersweet aftertaste.

PS: I wish the city had some ambient sounds, like trams passing by etc. Being out on the balcony felt like stepping into a void. Not sure if it's a good thing or not. Other than that the game is perfect. Thank you!

Thanks! There are only two endings, the one where you inform the Church is a better one for the main character but there's not really any good scenario for the rest of the residents :')

Yeah the sound design is just not my strong suit... Something to work on in the future projects haha

Wow, what a great game. The attention-to-detail with regards to majority of the items on display here is staggering. The sound design, the characters, the lore all build to this fully realised, depressing, cramped interior likened to an 80's style eastern European bloc. It all feels very 1984, with Cthulhu-esque vibes.

The story heightens the tension with The Church and the mysterious liquid that seems to have been discovered in the mines. When you download this game you also get a PDF booklet that explains more of the lore, and I for one want to experience more of this world.

Congrats on making a true gem of an indie slow-build body horror game. Definitely going to look out for future projects from you!

adore it.

all small details, sounds & silence moments, art-style, story.

and also, thank you for creating something inspired by your own culture or country history. it makes all even more personal ig?

please continue to create :3

oh my, there's even a booklet with worldbuilding info!!! didn't notice it at first

10000/10

(+2)

Haha yeah, I should probably write about the booklet on the itch page oops... Happy to hear that you found it!

I'll do my best to make more related games in the future

also, if there'll be any other platforms beside from twitter, with your worldbuilding (even without gamedev), please feel free to share <3

i would be glad to know more about your world, but twitter has kinda-paywall (needs registration to see your posts)

fediverse or bluesky would be perfect, but it's only if you're willing to do it ofc

i can even help with fediverse ukhm

falta la traduccion a español

I launched the game last night and literally 7-10 minutes were enough for me to feel the vibe of the atmosphere of this game. This is the case when it’s not about the graphics, but about the conveyed atmosphere and as a person who likes Sh4 The Room, this game will clearly appeal to you. I will continue to play and thank you very much!

Thank you very much ♥ I hope the game won't dissapoint you!

Really a great game that brings memories of the 80s. I’d love to go outside and wander around the neighborhood, though. Hope you'll cook up a sequel.

Thank you! I myself cannot wait to make some exterior environments and more varied sceneries... I'll definitely work on more Funeralopolis related projects in the future

Just... Wow. I can't describe how great this game is.                                      How i understand you'll be releasing smaller games that will cover the lore and different time periods of this world? Because I'm so impressed and I need more. And also, if I’m not getting ahead of myself, is there a major project planned for the future in this universe that will even be on Steam?

That's the plan, I do have plans for next related games! Probably nothing too lenghty but we'll se what the future brings

My next project will definitely be released on steam!

You got yourself a new follower, What a great Atmosferic Horror game. I loved it all, especially the graphics and the music, really beautiful. Can't wait for more project like this.

Was really impressed with your game! Such a good spoopy story and loved the old school low poly graphics. Will definitely be watching for more great games from you:)

Thanks again! I do hope to make more stuff in the future!

This is one of the best gaming experiences I've had in a long time. I'm usually not the fan of horror genre since it's often full of screamers and sudden noises, but this is not the "traditional" horror - and I like it. Visual style, story, music and the whole atmoshere make the game into a really unique experience. 10/10 for me. Really hope to see more in this setting!

Also, if you ever need it translated to Norwegian and/or Ukrainian, I'll be more than happy to be of help :)

(+1)

Really love the artstyle and mood of this project. It's small game, but after it i want more in this world. Worldbuilding went amazingly well!

(1 edit) (-1)

i hope you can maybe optimize the game cuz i can't run it but it seems cool pls do it cuz my pc is absolute potato (4gb ram, Intel Core i3-4005U)

Lovingly crafted artstyle and mechanics for a freebie, best of luck with any future projects!

(+1)

This was absolutely brilliant 10/10

One of the prettiest games of the year. Hard to believe it's free. This is higher quality than most payed games on steam.

Can't wait to see more from you!

Omg thank you so much!! I hope to make more Funeralopolis related games in the future!

(+2)

To the developer:

Please keep making games like this, I love these types of products as they are pure art both graphically and for the story.

If you intend to release it on steam I will gladly buy it.

Thanks! I'll see what I can do about the steam release, these things take time unfortunately

That shot near the end with the pan thru the door and the churchmen and the music and like holy cow that was beautiful.

♥ ♥ ♥

Truly excellent little experience - special kudos for the truly standout visual presentation and the mix of mundanity and horror/oppressive atmosphere. Loved a lot of the effects and musical snippets too. Absolutely lives up to its namesake, a song which I absolutely adore.

I'm happy to hear that you liked the game and the music! The Funeralopolis track is very dear to my heart,it influences the tone and atmosphere of my whole worldbuilding project ♥

Hi, I'm the game designer at a small indie studio called Yonder. I played your game and I loved it. I found some incredible similarities with one of our games, Hell is Others, which got me really excited. We are two kindred spirits. I'll leave you the trailer, and if you want to learn more, I recommend you watch a gameplay video on YouTube (especially the start of the game), you'll be surprised. Thank you so much for the terrifying and fascinating experience. You are truly talented. See you in hell! ;)

Wow! The game is so well made. I really like the artstyle. I hope we see more from you keep it up! 10/10

Thanks a lot, I hope to make more Funeralopolis stuff in the future!

cool

♥ ♥ ♥

saw your post about your game on twitter and had to click the link immediately. can't wait to start playing, because the vibes from the screencaps are amazing. also, i'd love translating this to spanish! i'm a translator and i have a soft spot for texts heavy games with horror themes ♥

(1 edit)

Thank you for all the kind words!! I'd love to have it translated but unforunately the game wasn't made with translations in mind and it's just not feaseble implementation-wise at the moment T__T
That's currenly one of my bigest regrets with this game as I can't event have it in my native language...
Thank again for the proposition tho! ♥

of course, they're well deserved, had a blast playing the game yesterday! it's super engaging, and i highly appreciate the game not being super long, because that way you can start a new gameplay a different day without feeling like you've spent too much time doing the same stuff before.

aww, it's a pity that you couldn't add your native language ): i hope you end up finding a way to implement it, and if that happens, i'll be more than happy to help with a spanish translation then

The in-universe timeline raises interesting questions.
It ain't really a spoiler territory cause all of this is covered either in pdf-file or at the very beginning of the game.

So the Huta Grobno (or the place it was built in) was abandoned for many years after the war and then rebuilt by private investors. What kind of conflict was it and how long ago did it happen?

We know it's 1983 as of today in game, we know from the game's description the place was abandoned for many years. Yet in Pan Klimek's bio we can also see that he worked at the local factory for "Most of his life"-logical to assume, for at least a couple dozen years. The first option here is that he worked here before the war and then went back after the rebuilding. Yet it seems unlikely cause the description kinda implies the uninterrupted sequence of events from him working there to his retirement. Meaning most likely the city got destroyed, rebuilt and then he worked there for many many years.

Even before that, as we remember, place stayed vacant and dangerous for a long time. Meaning, if the history of this world is even somewhat similar to ours, the conflict must have happened somewhere late 40's to early 50's. Who fought whom? The description of the vacant wasteland kinda implies the large amount of nations surrounding it-meaning it is probably the border-town of sorts. Might it be that at one point at the time it was bordering the Soviet Union maybe, the Ukrainian or Belarussian SSR for instance?

Maybe it was a proxy war of Cold War blocks then? Maybe the West went ahead with Patton's eagerness to nuke the reds to kingdom come right after the ww2? Maybe the communist Poland fell earlier than IRL and joined the western block? Anyway, the existence of Soviet Union in it's historical borders on par with Poland keeping it's communist course seems unlikely in this timeline-they would not tolerate the existance of a privately owned city-state I reckon.

Then what exactly happened to this land before? No big clue here. Tactical nuke, the environmental hazard (either nuclear or chemical) caused by intense combat? Maybe the weapon used was paranatural all by itself.

Or maybe this world's history has very little to do with our own's and there were no soviets, no west and no ww2 even, who knows!

Fun little game, kudos to you!

(+1)

Oh wow, such a lenghty lore dive ♥ Thanks for taking interest in my game!!

The timeline is more like this:

+ The land was unusable for a long time after some unspecified military conflict

+ Then people took interest in this place and the city of Huta-Grobno was formed

As for the location you're right, it's placed in again, some unspecified place in central / eastern Europe. In general it's set in similar but somewhat alternative world with a slightly different timeline, technology and of course, a layer of supernatural stuff hehe

It makes me so happy to know that you read the additional booklet!!

(+1)

Incredible job! One of the prettiest games I've ever seen! It's oozing with atmosphere!

Aaah thank you! I'm glad you like it!

very well made game. like the visuals

Thank you!

This game looks amazing. Right up my alley. Too bad it's Windows only. Any chance it will be released for Mac in the future?

(+1)

I'd love to but I don't have a Mac at the moment and it's needed to make a build... T__T Good that you bring it up, I'll see what I can do in the future

Thanks for considering it. I really appreciate the extra effort. Hope it works out.

Idk what to say... Standing ovations. Literally one of the most atmospheric games of 2024! I beg you to create more cause everything is FIRE about this game.

A gameplay video?? So soon?? Thank you so much for the positive review!! I'm so happy you liked the game!

How many endings are there?

There are only 2 endings

thanks!

(1 edit)

Great all around with certified block of flats atmosphere, sounds and a relatable protagonist AND you can get it for free? I'd reccommend paying, but unreal (like the engine???? dev must be some kind of genius i guess)

Omg thak you, dziękulla!

A lovely short experience, packed with things to do and see. Would love to just sit there and chill for a while

Thank you!

In my next project there will be a place to chill made for you ;_;<3
